Easter Birds

Writer's picture: JaneJane

We are finally underway with painting the Tropical Bird Project (and no it doesn't involve chickens but I liked the image) :)

It has taken me a while to get to this point, mainly as I am busy painting my own work for shows coming up. However, the birds are now pencilled in on the blue canvas and Lynne made a start on the first parrot. The colours look so vibrant already, it is such a good start. One tip we found today that might be useful for painting your bird, if it is a really bright bird you could put one layer of white on first, let it dry and then continue with the colours. This will solve the problem of the blue background showing through.

If you are taking part in the project, bring your acrylics along on any drop in class week to paint your bird. Pop over to see whats been taking place so far here
